People often ask why wedding flowers can be expensive?
First of all there is a consultation, getting to know your Bride and Groom, their personalities, interests and most of all colour scheme and theme. Then discussing all the requirements and what flowers they need and items, I then have to find out costs from suppliers, availability, do a stem count for every buttonhole, bouquet and so on so I can cost it all to give a final quote to the happy couple.🙂
The flowers we buy are from Dutch sellers and are of the finest quality, we collect and condition them, they have been on a long journey and will be very thirsty. 🤤
All weddings are very time consuming, buttonholes, corsages, some headresses and some bouquets are wired. Each individual flower and piece of foliage are wired and wrapped with a special tape, then put together and created into the beautiful creation. 15 buttonholes which can take about 5 to 7 minutes each to make can take up quite alot of time! Corsages and headresses alot longer.
Then you have the Bride's bouquet, Bridesmaids, Flowergirls, these can take anywhere from 15 minutes to 2 hours. Wrapping stems with ribbon, pinning or wiring the list goes on!
Then there's the table arrangements, pedestals, cake tops, garlands, church flowers, thank you bouquets.
There is also decorating the venue, wrapping, spraying, packaging and delivering the flowers...
Phewww its time for a large glass of red! 🤪🍷🥴😴 till next time! 😘
